Here’s how BAUCO solves problems for architects
In a perfect world you wouldn’t have to deal with access panels at all. HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems would work flawlessly behind the scenes and never require inspections, maintenance, or upgrades. If needed, access panels would always be located completely out of sight. But in the real world these systems are often located in prominent locations and access is required. The wrong access panel can disrupt your design and reflect poorly on your work. Here’s how BAUCO can help.
Problem #1: Unsightly access panels
Solution: Virtually invisible panels
BAUCO access panels install flush with the surface with only a narrow 1/16″ perimeter gap. They can be covered in paint, wallpaper, tile, or millwork. The drywall inlay can be ordered with BAUCO’s paint-ready option to save you time.
Colin Bellingham, Westrose Interiors, says, “They blend in with the surrounding drywall, or can be finished to suit the surroundings. It’s a nice neat finish.”
Problem #2: Awkward shapes and non-standard requirements
Solution: Fully customizable panels
Got a tricky application? We’ll customize or even redesign a panel to make it work. More than half the panels BAUCO ships are customized: a slightly odd size, extra large, extra small, L-shaped, round, multi-leaf, specialty board inlay, security hardware. The acoustic properties and functional access remain the same.
Jim Ovady, Sea-Dar Construction, says, “Some of the framing was done to odd measures like 29” or 58”. But the access panels could all be customized.”
Problem #3: Sound transmission concerns
Solution: Acoustic integrity
Installation of the BAUCO Plus II in a typical assembly does not significantly reduce acoustic properties. The airtight gasket and the mass of the drywall inlay combine to deliver superior sound transmission resistance. Third-party testing results are available. The BAUCO Plus II is ideal for applications with sound transmission concerns, as well as for plenum access and clinical environments.
